The Butte College SBDC is a public, nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist small businesses in Butte, Glenn, Tehama and Colusa counties. The SBDC provides confidential counseling and technical assistance in the areas of writing business plans, marketing, financing, strategies, budgeting, and international trade. Periodic workshops addressing small business issues are offered. (See also "Contract Education," in the Training section.)

SCORE offers training and technical assistance to local businesses. Butte County employers are fortunate to have at their finger tips retired employers from large major corporations who are willing to share their experiences and their expertise. SCORE offers workshops and individual counseling.

The Center provides interdisciplinary consulting and technical research expertise. The center specializes in computer mapping, GIS, air photo interpretation, remote sensing and satellite image processing, as well as a planning emphasis on modeling, resource analysis, urban planning and environmental impact analysis.
